How to finger coil wavy hair (& why you should!)
If you have wavy hair, chances are that you may struggle with definition and an inconsistent curl pattern. Luckily, both of those issues are easily solved by using the right care & styling products and with finger coiling.
What is finger coiling?
Styling techniques don’t get much simpler or more “low-tech” than finger coiling. The actual technique isn’t actually much more complicated than the name. All you need to do is identify areas of your hair where the wave pattern is less defined and wrap small sections around your fingers. After holding for a few seconds, you release the strand and voila! A beautifully formed curl, with zero heat damage!
When to use finger coiling
One of the most beautiful things about curls is their flexibility. While you can finger coil your curls or waves any time you need a little definition boost, it works best while hair is damp. The idea would be to wash and towel-dry hair, apply your styling products, and then spend some time finger coiling individual sections, before diffusing.

4. Section hair into 4 quadrants. Taking small (~1 inch) sections, coil hair around index finger. Start from the bottom of the strand and “roll up” to the scalp.
5. Gently unravel strand and move on to the next section.
6. Repeat as many times as needed to achieve desired end result.
